Keno was created in 200 before Christ by the Chinese army commander, Cheung Leung who utilized this game as a way to finance his declining army. The metropolis of Cheung was at war, and after a bit of time seemed to be facing national shortage of food with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung needed to create a quick response for the economic adversity and to create revenue for his military. He, as it follows invented the game we now know as keno and it was a fantastic success.
Keno used to be known as the White Pigeon Game, seeing as the winning numbers were broadcast by pigeons from bigger cities to the smaller towns. The lotto ‘Keno’ was brought to the USA in the 1800s by Chinese newcomers who headed to the States to work. In those times, Keno used 120 numbers.
Today, Keno is most often wagered on with 80 numbers in almost all of the US land based casinos along with online casinos. When a law passed that taxed off track wagering, the casinos swiftly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
